Abstract

Sportswear is the most important thing to pay attention to in sports activities. However, in the Islamic religion, there are principles of clothing that must be followed. Therefore, this research aims to provide a deeper understanding of the Islamic perspective on sportswear. Based on research conducted, Muslim women's sportswear that is in accordance with the principles of dressing in Islam is clothing that covers the private parts, is not tight, is not transparent, and does not show parts of the body that should be covered. Apart from that, Muslim women's sportswear that complies with the principles of clothing in Islam must also be comfortable and appropriate for the sports activities being carried out. However, there are also sports clothes that do not comply with Islamic dress principles, such as clothes that are too tight, too short, or too transparent. This is contrary to Islamic teachings which respect the honor of the body and private parts. This research also explains the etiquette of clothing in sports for men and women. Men are expected to wear clothes that are not too tight and do not go above the knees, while women are expected to wear clothes that cover the whole body and do not show the curves
