This article examines the role, contribution and impact of Islam on science. A descriptive-qualitative approach with literature study was the method chosen. Research findings show that Islam plays a fundamental role in the development of science, both naqliyyah (based on revelation) and aqliyyah (based on reason). Aqidah becomes the paradigm, sharia as the standard, and morals as the ethics in the naqliyyah sciences. Meanwhile, aqliyyah sciences include medicine, mathematics, science (physics, astronomy and chemistry), as well as social sciences (economics, geography and psychology). Islam's contribution to science has had a significant impact on world civilization. The discoveries and innovations of Muslim scientists laid the foundations of modern science and continue to inspire scientists today.
