Abstract

This research aims to understand online buying and selling from the perspective of Islamic law. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative approach. The results of the research are that the main reason why buying and selling is forbidden in Islam is that three of them are objects that are bought and sold haram according to the Al-Qur'an and Hadith. legitimate. Online buying and selling transactions can be legal or illegal, not the act of buying and selling itself. As long as the transaction is carried out in accordance with Islamic law and of course there is no aspect of fraud, coercion or abuse, then it is permissible to buy and sell goods online. In Islam, buying and selling is essentially carried out on the basis of agreement, therefore there is never any pressure to make a purchase. Buying and selling by selling basic objects or non-cash, is the opinion of the majority of ulama who allow transactions on ready stock goods, but which are then handed over or sent by online sellers. Specifications and characteristics can be known for this type of transaction. Therefore, buying and selling via the internet is permitted as long as no party is harmed, pressured, cheated or defrauded, and does not violate Islamic principles and sharia.
