Abstract

Islam is a religion that teaches for balancing between the world and the afterlife, so that in Islam, adherents are expected to get a better life in this world and in the afterlife. One of the ways for gaining a happiness in this world and in the afterlife is by investing. Due to the crucial importance of investing in the world and the afterlife which illustrates the characteristics of Islami to live in balance between matters of this world and the hereafter, this research will examine the concept of investment in the world and the hereafter from an Islamic perspective. By using the study literature method, data collection is done by collecting through books, journals, news, and data sources from other literature. The results show that from Islam’s perspective, investment is not only in the form of money, assets or expensive items. Investments can take many forms, such as investment in worship, investment in the profession, health, endowments, alms, pious families, knowledge, and investment of time to serve the community.
