PEMIKIRAN ISLAM MODERN DAN KONTEMPORER: ISU-ISU GENDER SEBAGAI BASIS MODERN KONTEMPORER PEMIKIRAN DALAM ISLAM

Abstract

                Contemporary discourse that has received quite a lot of attention, both from activists, academics, government and religious leaders, is about gender issues. This study aims to describe the Islamic perspective on gender phenomena, where the differences in the attributes of women and men in life are not the excuse that women's positions cannot be the same as those of men. Because their mission as caliphs, both get the opportunity to carry out the mandate to prosper the earth. In Islam, the best human being is seen not in his appearance, body shape, not even in his type, but in his behavior. Whether he is male or female as long as his behavior is in accordance with God's will, then he is the best human being. This research method uses library research. Acquisition of data is analyzed and studied in depth on the references used, as is the case in library studies or library research. This research explains the role of women, whether they can take over the role of men. Seeing the increasing development of the Muslim Ummah, of course many understandings also have an impact, not to mention that the wind of feminism is spreading among Muslim women, causing friction in Islamic countries.
