Abstract

Akad is an agreement or contract in financial or business transactions, especially those involving sharia principles in the Islamic buying and selling system. In the context of the Islamic buying and selling system, a contract is a contractual agreement that governs the relationship between the parties involved in the transaction, such as the seller and the buyer. Examples of contracts in the Islamic buying and selling system include murabahah contracts (sale and purchase contracts with an agreed markup on the price), musyarakah contracts (cooperation between sellers and buyers to share the profits or losses from the transaction), salam contracts (buyers pay in advance for goods to be received in the future), istisna contracts (ordering goods that do not yet exist with certain specifications), and so on.
