The practice of Monday and Thursday fasting, which has its roots in Islamic teachings, is attracting increasing attention as a holistic approach to improving digestive and general health. This study aims to investigate the impact of Monday and Thursday fasting on digestive health, focusing on its effects on digestive system efficiency, body detoxification, and blood sugar and fat regulation. This research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the benefits of Monday and Thursday fasting on digestive health, evaluate the biological mechanisms involved, and assess the implications for human well-being. The focus of this research includes a detailed understanding of the effects of fasting on digestion, its potential in preventing digestive disorders, and its contribution to weight management and metabolic health. This research uses a systematic review method with a literature search on the Google Scholar database. Keywords used include “Fasting,” “Monday,” “Thursday,” and “Health.” Inclusion criteria include research articles published in the last 10 years (2013-2023), in English and Indonesian, in the form of journal articles and open access, as well as systematic reviews, literature reviews and meta-analysis. The research results present consistent findings regarding the benefits of Monday and Thursday fasting on digestive health. Increased efficiency of the digestive system, detoxification of the body, and positive regulation of blood sugar and fat were the main findings. These processes make a real contribution to the prevention of digestive disorders, weight management, and managing the risk of metabolic disease.
