Perspektif Islam Terhadap Jual Beli Secara Kredit

Abstract

This article discusses the Islamic perspective on buying and selling on credit. In everyday life, we definitely carry out buying and selling transactions. However, there are times when we cannot pay for what we have to buy right away so we make transactions on credit. Buying and selling on credit is in accordance with the provisions of an Islamic economic perspective because in the transaction there is no element of coercion between the seller and the buyer, there is no delay in handing over the goods, and in this case each party makes a profit. However, there are still many people who think that credit transactions are related to debts and receivables. This transaction is a sale and purchase in installments (bai' at-taqsith), not a debt and receivable (al-qard wal iqtiradh). Even though this transaction creates obligations or debts on the buyer's side, this transaction is not a pure debt and receivable because there is a difference between buying and selling credit (bai' at-taqsith) and accounts payable (al-qard wal iqtiradh). Buying and selling on credit is an exchange between money (tsaman) and goods (sil'ah). Like buying and selling in supermarkets, buying and selling vehicles and property. Meanwhile, debts and receivables (al-qard wal iqtiradh) are transactions between money and money, borrowing money that is paid with money as well, as in as-Samarkandi: "Loans in dirhams and dinars are included in qardh."
